An In Home Services Program Provided By JJC Family Services
In Home Protective Services
In Home Protective Services (IHPS) program works with families referred to JJC by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and Family Court. The major objective is to preserve and strengthen the family's capability to utilize resources appropriately, so as to avoid the placement of children into foster homes or group homes.
IHPS social workers form a contract with families, which means that the families consent to frequent counseling and agree to follow-through on the use of a wide range of community resources. The children are frequently visited by our social workers to ensure their health, welfare and school attendance.
JJC's program is one of 10 providers of in-home supportive services in the City of Philadelphia, and each day we serve about 50 families.
